Background

I’m Jalisa Jackson. I am an Afrofuturist debate nerd. I have been part of the Debate community since I was 14 and have never fallen out of love. I debated in high school in Kansas City. I debated at K-State University where my senior year I transitioned into coaching. I coached a team to the NDT that year. I moved to Florida University and coached another team to the NDT. I was an Assistant Debate coach for UTSA for 4 years and have been in the Director position for a year. I’m excited to meet you and hope you’ll enjoy the activity as much as I do.

Background

Hello! My name is Alonso, and my pronouns are he/him. I’m an assistant debate coach at UTSA, and I have a couple of decades of experience with debate as a competitor and coach. I am from Garden City Kansas, where I debater in high school. I also debated in college at Kansas State University. In high school I did “traditional” policy debate, and in college I did critical and performance style debate. I’m an avid reader and I love traveling.
